Games could have ‘coca cola’ or whatever billboards in them and as long as the game is a good one company’s will wanna pay big money for that.

Movies could be payed off even before hitting the store but the old ways made rich people rich so they have some sort of tunnelvision. It’s the big shots that earn big money that are addicated to money and blinded to the point they want time to stand still. The problem here is that the industry should have adapted in a smart way, not ripping off every one thinking, these minions of our can’t do without fresh media.

I’m not a musician but I am an independant software developer which gives me a small secondary income which helps to pay the bills) who oppose in principal people’s hard work being given away for free (though we may still download),Īnd b) those who have never made money out of IP and are never likely to, who enjoy getting music/films/software for free and will defend their “right” to do so to the hilt – though cut their income by for example replacing them with cheaper workers, or cut their benefits / pocket money and watch them shout from the rooftops about injustice! I think the problem is that people fall into two camps on this issue –Ī) those who have made part or all of their living out of intelectual property (e.g.

This reminds me of one of the torrent groups who were releasing 3D films – they started password protecting their torrents and complaining that other groups were stealing their hard work by releasing them as their own – seemingly oblivious to the fact that they themselves were giving away other people’s hard work that cost millions to produce! Or is it fair enough, they have a point and that people’s work in building up a site should be protected? Is it ironic that aside that made its name and launched a political party on the back of giving away musician’s music without their permission is now up in arms over people doing the same to them? This isn’t the first time that activists who campaign against strong intellectual property protection have discovered that strong intellectual property protection can actually be quite handy. TPB hasn’t called in the intellectual property lawyers ÃÂ although it could clearly benefit from the strong legal protections available to it. Using The Pirate Bay logo or font is a trademark violation, as is using the piratebay.ee domain. Passing off is a trademark violation, even if a trademark hasn’t been registered. The proxies do indeed violate TPB’s intellectual property in several ways.

“This site is a bad copy of other sites, like TPB, and it’s totally meaningless,” The Pirate Bay told the blog TorrentFreak. Several of the copycats, including a proxy operating at thepiratebay.ee, inserted requests for payments into the unlicensed material indexed by TPB, which particularly enraged the Swedish Pirates. The site that has turned into a political organisation built around the belief that there should be no copyright and the all music should be given away for free, by them, whilst earning money from ads is angry that there are several proxy sites that have sprung up ÃÂ in some cases using pirate bay domains ÃÂ leeching off the original.
